2. Mathematics education issues at the College level: Brief presentations
followed by a discussion of current and emerging issues
-John Kezys (Mohawk) presented the math curriculum stream at the School
of Business
-Tom Sutton ( Mohawk) talked about the demographics of college students
-Paul Balog (George Brown) talked about college instructors and the
consequences of having or not having a math department
-Dragana Martinovic (Sheridan) described the technology used in math
courses at Sheridan
-Victor Ralevich (coordinator, Sheridan) talked about the degree program
in Information Security starting in September 2004
-Harry Matsugy (coordinator, Humber) provided his experience with problems
that college-bound students are having by following the pathways through
the new high school curriculum.
