NPCDS is soliciting proposals for training
initiatives of up to 5 days in length to take place.
Proposals should emphasize methodology for
the analysis of data with complex structures and can appeal to individuals
with varying degrees of statistical expertise. Proposals must demonstrate
that the event will be instrumental in advancing the research agenda
of a scientist working in an interdisciplinary environment at a university,
research institute, government agencies or in industry. Data that
arise in this environment includes, but is not limited to, sample
surveys with complex designs, and biological, environmental, medical
or industrial studies with longitudinal or hierarchical structures.
Proposals may include training components that are expository of the
area of application rather than being wholly methodological in nature.
Successful applicants will receive up to $20,000 in support of the
event and applicants are encouraged to seek other sources of support.
Preference will be given to those proposals that are related to existing
NPCDS activity and these events may complement existing training activity.
