The NICDS is managed by a Scientific Director, who is responsible for the overall leadership of the Institute, a Board of Directors and a Scientific Advisory Committee.

The NICDS Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) is responsible for organizing the scientific activities of the institute. This includes regular calls for proposals for workshops, projects and training events. These are vetted through rigorous international peer review that forms the basis of SAC funding recommendations to the Board.
