Workshop on Hamiltonian Dynamical Systems
Description
Rationale: A conference on analytic techniques of dynamical systems, including perturbation theory, variational methods and stability theory. The subject will include both finite dimensional Hamiltonian systems such as in celestial mechanics, and infinite dimensional Hamiltonian systems, such as those arising from PDE or from other dynamical systems with infinitely many degrees of freedom.
This workshop is in fact a continuation of a regular series of workshops on analytic methods for Hamiltonian dynamical systems. This series was an outgrowth of the famous Oberwolfach workshops organized by J. Moser and E. Zehnder. The last two workshops took place at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Edinburgh, at two year intervals of time. In the past, we have obtained funding for these meetings from the European Community, the EPSRC, the NSF Committee for International Programs, and the Clay Mathematics Institute.
