The last several years have seen an explosive progress in Holomorphic dynamics in several variables due to cross-pollination by the ideas and tools from one-dimensional dynamics. The development of the latter has centered around the quadratic family; the family of Hénon polynomial automorphisms is emerging in a similar role in the former. Dissipative Hénon maps have been particularly tractable, and a complete structure theory of highly dissipative maps seems within reach.

Applications of several one-dimensional techniques have been particularly fruitful,  for instance, parabolic implosion and renormalization. Such techniques have led to beautiful, unexpected results, which highlight both the many similarities and  striking differences between dynamics in one and several variables.

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers working in the interface of the two fields to highlight  open directions of study, and the key problems.
