The Symposium will be centred on the work of Cédric Villani (Fields Medal 2010), and its current and potential impact.
The Program will focus on the many facets of entropy: kinetic theory, optimal transport, geometry, such as the role played by entropy in physical, geometric, and transport phenomena..
The scientific program is aimed at a wide audience, including graduate students, mathematicians in other research areas, and scientists who use mathematics in an important way. The Symposium will feature a public opening with lectures by Cédric Villani and another renowned mathematician, as well as a special program for high school and undergraduate students. All events will be broadcast live online.
