Abstract:
In recent years, significant attention has been afforded to the addition of computational thinking (CT), programming, and coding into K-12 education to meet the demands of a technology-driven world. The degree of this integration in Canada varies significantly between provincial education systems, from offering secondary level elective courses in computer programming to including CT as a mandatory component of the provincial curriculum. This presentation will discuss the present extent of CT and coding education in each Canadian province, and where further integration can be expected in the coming years.
