The ABC I learned from Prof. M. Ram Murty
When I first arrived at Queen's University to start my PhD under the supervision of Prof. M. Ram Murty, he gave me several of his papers on the ABC conjecture. This had a profound impact on my research. In this talk I will revisit some of his ideas and I'll explain their influence on some new developments around the ABC conjecture.
Bio: Hector Pasten is a Chilean mathematician working in Number Theory. He completed his PhD at Queen's University under the supervision of M. Ram Murty. Then he was a Benjamin Pierce Fellow at Harvard and a Member of the IAS at Princeton. He is currently working at PUC Chile.
