Belonging to the MTBoS: Tapping into a Community of Mathematics Educators
In this talk, Judy Larsen will share her perspectives on belonging to the MTBoS as both a mathematics educator and a mathematics education researcher. MTBoS is an acronym for the Math Twitter Blogosphere, which in essence is a collection of mathematics educators who connect via social media to share musings about teaching mathematics. The MTBoS can be a very productive space, but Judy’s research reveals there are various modes of engagement, some more productive than others. How can we make use of this space as teachers, administrators, and leaders, and what does the existence of this space mean for mathematics education in general?
