The process of Beyond Endoscopy, as described first by Lang- lands by GL(2), requires to carefully study the regular elliptic part of the trace formula with the purpose of isolating the trace of the trivial repre- sentation from it. In this talk we will discuss how this isolation was carried out for a certain class of totally real fields K. We will highlight the result and the different problems that came from the process.
