Abstract:
The entropy is a quantity introduced by Colding and Minicozzi that measures the geometric complexity of a hypersurface in Euclidean space. It is monotonic along the mean curvature flow and is closely related to the singularity formation of the flow. I will survey some recent results on closed hypersurfaces with low entropy.
