Abstract:
The talk is concerned with the Ab-Initio simulation of electrostatically confined quantum dots. I'll describe why grid-based approximations are particularly appropriate for quantum dot simulations and I'll also describe the numerical methods developed to solve the computational problems that arise when one decides to implement Ab-Initio methods using grid based approximations. Computational results will be presented.
