Abstract:
I will first explain a relative version of functorial field theories and give a classification thereof. This will allow to construct simple examples using the dualizability results from the first lecture: the goal is to showcase low-dimensional field theories which are “relative” to their observables. An example will be given by Azumaya algebras, for example polynomial differential operators (Weyl algebra) in positive characteristic and its center. (The first half of this talk was joint work with Theo Johnson-Freyd, the applications with Owen Gwilliam.)
