In this work we describe a simple model of a polymer "zipping" transition. When set in the bulk this model is readily solved and analysed, but becomes significantly more difficult to study in different geometries. By confining the system to a strip we can understand the the force exerted by the polymer and how this force changes as it undergoes the zipping transition.
