We will explain how Scholze's work in p-adic Hodge theory (joint with Morrow and Bhatt) has lead to understand how to use the Frobenius homomorphism in stable homotopy theory. This comes up in topological Hochschild homology, but also in power operations and other aspects of stable homotopy theory.
