I will survey recent results on arc spaces. I will start by presenting a formula for the sheaf of differentials and some applications shedding light on the local structure of the spaces. I will then discuss a new, more flexible approach to the formula that we plan to use in order to extend the methods to other related constructions. The talk is based on joint work with Christopher Chiu and Roi Docampo.
