Abstract:
Imagine you have a quantum system (e.g. with a Hamiltonian determined by the adjacency matrix of a graph) through which you want to transfer a quantum state, but the spectral properties don’t match the necessary conditions for state transfer. What can you do about it? I will show how you can graft some weighted paths onto your graph in such a way that perfect transfer becomes possible! This strategy should be very helpful in dealing with experimental imperfections, letting us adapt to the specific (fixed) coupling strengths in a device such as those from IBMQ.
