Abstract:
Lyapunov exponents are invariants coming from dynamical systems and can be associated to variations of Hodge structure. In an appropriate sense, they measure the global asymptotic behavior of the period map. Their considerations lead to different proofs of some classical results in Hodge theory, and suggest new questions.
