Abstract:
The Schramm Loewner Evolution is a one-parameter family of conformally invariant random curves which appear as lattice size scaling limits of cluster interfaces in certain critical 2D lattice models. The beauty of SLE is that it connects analytic, geometric and stochastic constructions in the complex plane which provides one with a geometric and rigorous approach to such scaling limits. Further, it provides new methods to deal with a wide variety of scale-invariant problems in 2D. This talk will be an informal introduction to SLE with topics including Loewner’s equation, connection to lattice models, Schramm’s principle and some of their fundamental properties"
