This talk is a survey and an advertisement of the theory of Lindelöf $\Sigma$-spaces. We will present ten equivalent definitions of the Lindelöf $\Sigma$-property and a selection of results that have numerous applications in General Topology, Topological Algebra and $C_p$-theory.
