Abstract:
There are three different local unknotting moves: strand passage, coherent nullification and incoherent nullification. All three moves are relevant in DNA topology that is there are enzymes that use these moves to change the knot type of circular DNA. In this talk we compare these moves and discuss how effective these moves are to unknot. In particular, we discuss the unknotting of the torus knot family.
