The one dimensional cubic focusing NLS problem admits soliton solutions. Furthermore, in view of the complete integrability of the equation, these solitons obey some sort of nonlinear superposition principle. In this talk we describe ongoing work, joint with Herbert Koch, on the dynamics of multisoliton solutions and their stability. The emphasis will be on multisolitons with close scales and velocities.
