A classic result of Aguiar-Bergeron-Sottile shows that quasisymmetric functions play a central role in several areas of mathematics. More recent results show that the Temperley-Lieb algebra is interconnected with quasisymmetric polynomials at many levels. I will present some of those connections and more. This includes joint work with several co-authors, in particular Lucas Gagnon.
