Abstract:
In this presentation, we discuss the different optimization models arising in humanitarian relief operations. Firstly, we discuss the different features in humanitarian relief operations that will affect the optimization models. Secondly, we discuss the trade-off between efficiency and effectiveness in distribution. Thirdly, we consider the role of interdiction in distribution. We conclude that there are a lot of interesting open problems in optimization modeling and solution in humanitarian logistics.
