Abstract:
Bhatt-Scholze's recent prismatic and q-crystalline cohomology theories depend on the notion of a prism. I will explain how prisms are natural from the point of view of equivariant homotopy theory, by constructing a Tambara functor out of a prism. This elucidates several aspects of the theory, and points the way to possible generalizations.
