Renault's results connecting Cartan sub C*-algebras to groupoids have been central to analyzing noncommutative C*-algebras. We discuss new results on Cartan subalgebras that provide further examples in graph and $k$-graph algebras. If time permits, a bonus result of another sort concerning graph algebras will be presented.
