Abstract:
The λ-dilate of a set A is λ · A = {λa : a ∈ A}. I will show how to obtain sharp lower bounds on the size of sums of dilates, such as 2 · A + 7 · A + 12 · A for integer sets A. I will also discuss Pl¨unnecke-type inequalities for such sumsets.
