Symmetries and equilibrium in C-dynamical systems

Abstract:
By examining several concrete C ∗ -dynamical systems (based on Cuntz-Krieger algebras, Hecke algebras, and the recent GL2 system of Connes-Marcolli, among others) I will illustrate how the stability implicit in the KMS condition brings about symmetries and rescaling properties that can be used to describe the equilibrium state spaces in terms of measures.
