Abstract:
Dr. Huang, of the School of Information Technology at York University, holds a
York Research Chair Professorship. His research focuses on information retrieval, text mining, big data analytics with complex structures and their applications to the Web & medical healthcare. He has published over 200 papers in top-tier venues (e.g. ACM Transactions on Information Systems, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, ACM SIGIR, SIGKDD, CIKM, ACL, COLING and IEEE ICDM). The outcome of his contributions in developing and applying probabilistic modeling techniques to large-scale data analysis had significant impacts on both academia and industry. He was and will be General Chairs for the 19th ACM CIKM and 43rd ACM SIGIR.
