Truebit 2020
A phenomenon known as the Verifier’s Dilemma bounds the computational complexity of smart contracts. This talk explores a retrofitting, blockchain enhancement, called Truebit, which bypasses this bottleneck. In addition to reviewing the classic whitepaper construction, we shall glimpse at applications and regulatory constraints which have shaped the system’s high-performance architecture and token layer in recent years. The resulting computational stable token tracks fiat currency through market forces, as opposed to external price oracles, thereby preserving Truebit’s uniform tradition of hierarchy-free protocols and reputationless agents.
