Abstract:
The twistor correspondence is a machine which turns (non-linear) PDEs in dimension 4 into problems in algebraic and complex geometry. I’ll spend most of the time reviewing the twistor correspondence, for an audience with a background in algebraic geometry. I’ll finish with a discussion of vertex algebras related to twistor theory, and their applications to scattering amplitudes.
