The study of strongly unimodal sequences has recently at- tracted interest with connections to knot theory and mixed mock modular- ity. In this talk, we discuss two-parameter generalizations of Hecke-Appell type expansions for the generating functions of unimodal and special uni- modal sequences due to Kim and Lovejoy and Bringmann and Lovejoy. In particular, we present their explicit representations as mixed false (or mixed mock) modular forms. This is joint work with Robert Osburn (UCD).
