Abstract:
In the late 70s, Haagerup proved that the distance function on a tree is conditionally negative definite, or equivalently that the kernels r d have Schur multiplier norm one for all 0¡r¡1. General hyperbolic graphs need not have this property, but it turns out that the kernels r d have uniformly bounded Schur multiplier norm for 0¡r¡1.
