On-chip Microwave-to-Optical photon transducer

Abstract:
We present an all fiber-in-line quantum device for coherent microwave-to-optical conversion. The device consists of a planar superconducting microwave resonator coupled to a rare-earth doped fiber resonator. The results show this efficient , compact device allows a strong vacuum coupling strength and thus a high-efficiency coherent conversion of microwave-to-optical photons. This proposed hybrid system has potential for application in quantum information processing and communication.
