The dynamics of the quasi-periodic Schroedinger cocycle at the lowest energy of the spectrum

Abstract:
We will study properties of the quasi-periodic Schroedinger equation at the lowest energy of the spectrum. This will lead us into the study of phase transitions. Moreover, we will answer a question by M. Herman concerning the geometry of a certain minimal set - a non-chaotic strange atractor - of the projective Schroedinger cocycle. We study the case of large coupling constant and Diophantine frequency.
