The importance of mathematical skills and an analytical mindset in college math courses

Abstract:
In Business statistics and Quantitative methods courses for degree programs at Humber College, it is required for students to both analyze problems in logical way, and to utilize fundamental math skills to solve problems. Kate will illustrate the importance of both through examples.
Bio: Kate Zhang is a math professor and incoming program coordinator for the math department at Humber College. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Memorial University in 2006, and has lectured at several Canadian institutions including; Memorial University, the University of New Brunswick, the University of Guelph-Humber, and Humber College, where she teaches Math and Statistics courses for degree programs.
