Abstract:
In this talk, I will explain how model theory can be used to rigorously ask and answer questions such as "What does a typical large graph looks like?". I will start by presenting some classical, striking results on the structure of large graphs, and then move on to some tantalizing open problems.
This talk will assume no previous knowledge of model theory or graph theory.
