I plan to describe the initial stages of our work in progress on cohomology of difference groups. We define our categories of difference representations (both in the discrete and the rational context) and

describe spectral sequences relating the difference cohomology with the standard one.

The main motivation of our work is to find a general difference counterpart of the generic cohomology of Cline, Parshall, Scott, and Van Der Kallen.
