I will report on a conjectural generalization of the Borsuk-Ulam theorem to the setting of free actions of compact quantum groups on unital C*-algebras. In particular, I will explain partial results already achieved, and indicate key obstacles in proving the general result. Based on joint work with Paul F. Baum and Piotr M. Hajac.
