We report on joint work with Alcides Buss and Rufus Willett about functorial properties of exotic crossed-product functors with applications to the computation of K-theory groups of certain exotic group algebras and crossed products by K-amenable groups. We also discuss properties of the minimal exact Morita compatible crossed-product functor of Baum, Guentner and Willett in their reformulation of the Baum-Connes conjecture.
