Abstract:
This course will provide an introduction to the basic theory of stratified spaces and intersection homology theory. Topics will include basic definitions and properties, intersection homology Poincare duality, and related invariants such as signatures on Witt spaces. We will consider approaches to intersection homology from both the simplicial/singular chain and sheaf theoretic points of view.
