The method of vector diffusion maps (VDM) is a generalisation of diffusion maps, but based on the heat kernel and eigen-vector fields of the connection Laplacian. It provides tools to embed data sets into Euclidean spaces equipped with the vector diffusion metric. In this talk, I will discuss the framework of vector diffusion maps and the relation between VDM and the connection Laplacian operator.
