The existing gap between theory and practice in the field of insurance risk is immense. That said, we are `living' the aftermath of the 2007 - 2009 subprime mortgage crisis that has provided numerous very illustrative examples of how devastating the consequences of such a gap can be. Bringing under one roof internationally renowned scholars, influential insurance experts, as well as the regulator, RISC Forum will forge long-lasting and impactful partnerships among the three groups, and thus facilitate the translation of cutting edge research into action for the benefit of all Canadians.
